Tomorrow I teach a passage from Scripture which gives an account of Jesus' betrayal, arrest, mockery of a trial, personal abandonment by friends and a physical beating from unjust thugs. It has me thinking quite a bit about suffering, justice, goodness and truth this week. This morning I ran a across an article by Timothy Keller on suffering which recently ran on CNN in edited form but released in its entirety by Redeemer City to City here. I recommend the latter and longer form of the essay as its quite helpful.
Some of my own thoughts on suffering and various ways, philosophical and theological, to understand it are here on the POCBlog as well. See Thoughts on Suffering.
